What eating tells you about people around you

Do you know you can tell what a person is like just by having a meal with them? According to a report by Huffington Post, people’s eating habits say more about them than they voluntarily disclose. Like that person who needs to know what everyone else is ordering before deciding on what to eat for themselves. Sounds familiar?Apparently, people like that are generally “unsure of their life choices” and are “probably very, very tiresome,” says the Huffington Post.

Then there are those who order everything else on the side. Huffington Post says you can expect such people to rearrange your schedule to suit theirs and maybe even expect you to cook them a separate meal if they don’t like what’s on the menu.

So if you are getting to know someone, just eat a meal with them – their actions and responses will be very telling of who they are.

Oh, do you have a mother who nags you all the time to drink your soup? P.s. She actually loves and cares for you a lot.

Need we say more? Read on to find out how dining with someone reveals his/her personality type.

1. If someone makes you soup..

It is a sure sign that they love and care for you.

2. If someone tries something unusual they are afraid to eat..

This probably means that they are likely keen to try out new things like sky-diving, ballroom dancing, or even learning a foreign language. They are the more adventurous sort, and are okay being out of their comfort zone. Such people are fun to be around.

3. If someone orders everything on the side..

Take this as a warning sign that they will expect you to learn how to do their laundry, rearrange your schedule to fit theirs, and even cook separate dinner if they don’t like what’s on the menu, says Huffington Post. They will probably even tell you how to wear your hair. Dealing with these people won’t be easy.

4. If someone needs to know what everyone is ordering before they decide for themselves..

If they can’t be sure of simple things like what to eat for dinner, what makes you think they will be sure of their life choices? These people are likely the indecisive sort and are also probably very tiresome.

5. If someone chews with their mouth open..

Everyone knows it is basic dining courtesy not chew with your mouth open. If someone chews with their mouth open, it shows that they think they are above you and the rules don’t apply to them. Either that, or they just have really bad manners.

6. If someone repeatedly declines to take home leftovers..

Same as number 5, they think they are above you, says Huffington Post. And they’ve obviously never eaten the previous days’ leftovers for breakfast before.

7. If someone feeds you when you are hung-over..

These people are friends (or a significant other) to keep for life. You can always depend on them and they’ll love you even at your worst.

8. If someone can differentiate between a wine with stone fruit notes and a wine with berry notes..

These people can obviously lie through life convincingly. You should ask them to be your lawyer.

9. If someone cuts in front of you in the buffet line..

Just let them go. “It’s probably all they have,” according to Huffington’s Senior Editor, Kristen Aiken.

10. If someone is rude to the waiter/bartender/chef/busser/host..

How someone treats the people who they perceive as inferior to them tells you a lot about themselves. They are not genuinely nice people, you need to get away from them.
